Books owned . . .
This question makes me sad, right off the bat, as it obviously assumes that most human beings own few enough books to list in a blog entry. I own about two or three hundred books, at least – not that I’m saying that makes me cool or anything. I have two tall bookshelves, and they are categorized as follows, top to bottom:
[Bookshelf One]
needlework books from the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s
old Girl and Boy Scout manuals
old books for children and housewives
old books on feminism, women’s studies, and homosexuality
’70s science fiction
old, cheesy romance novels and novels based on TV shows and miniseries-es
books that have been signed by their authors, and books by people I know
new-ish books I keep meaning to read
books I borrowed from other people
cheesy biographies
[Bookshelf Two]
expensive kids’ fiction
overflow from Bookshelf One
cheap kids’ fiction
kids’ non-fiction
Last book I bought . . .
I’m Not the New Me
Five books that mean a lot to me . . .

Julie of the Wolves
Woman Hollering Creek
The Pigman
