more psychosis
Through Free Republic (see post about psychos, below,) I found BOND: Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny. Here’s what I learned from that site:
1. Jesse Lee Peterson wrote a book called SCAM: How the Black Leadership Exploits Black America. In this book, he describes how “limosine liberals like Jesse Jackson” have made careers out of convincing black Americans that white Americans are to blame for all their problems. Hmm. Okay.
2. Columnist and reviewer La Shawn Barber‘s favorite chapter of the book is called, “Why Black Women Are So Mean”. Hmm. What’s that chapter about? Well, according to Barber’s review, it’s an only partially tongue-in-cheek explanation of the bitterness black women feel being left to parent children alone after being “abandoned by their irresponsible men.” Well, who can blame people for being bitter about that, right?
3. So what’s the answer? Is it for the black community to take responsibility for itself and rebuild itself from within? Well, sure, I guess, but Rev. Peterson’s “most important insight” – his “blueprint for true freedom” – is that black Americans should “[restore] God’s order to the family (husband is the head of the wife, as Christ is the head of his church.)”
Oh, okay. Because that makes sense. I know that, as a single mom, the one thing that would improve my life most would be a reformed ex-con reading the Bible aloud at the head of my dinner table and then having me wash his feet with my hair every night. Sure – that’d be super wicked awesome!
Another awesome thing, Rev. Peterson wants us to know, would be if we could get rid of all the homos:
“Homosexuality is an aberration of sexual normalcy and causes an out-of-control sexual appetite […] How can a Scoutmaster be entrusted as the sole, unchecked supervisor to care for your kids out in the woods, far away from authority, if he is not sexually restrained?”
(And how could he do it if he was sexually restrained, I have to wonder. Wouldn’t a chastity belt keep him from peeing in the woods, as I imagine Boy Scouts must need to do?)
Here’s another pearl of wisdom from Rev. Peterson: “Some women have had nine abortions and feel nothing about it.” Oh, hell, I’m not even going to waste time quoting this article. Just read it for yourself. Synopsis: Men uphold godliness in the family. Without men on the scene, women just let evil have its way. Read more of his sexist, homophobic views here.(Hey… what was the name of that woman who wore tall hats and preached that black men needed to tame their women with open-handed slaps on the mouth? Email me if you remember. I wonder if she’s married. Is Rev. Peterson married? Are they both on Friendster so I can suggest a match?)
Is it any wonder that white right-wingers support this guy? Jesus. What I thought might be a brave rant about the welfare system turned out to be more psychosis. Peterson repeatedly rants about women’s anger against men (anger that his statistics about single motherhood seem to justify) and then offers that these “weak” men need to be propelled to status as mini-leaders of these women. Not that they need to help these women, or treat them with respect, or even just pay their fucking child support, but that they need to run these women like “Christ” is supposed to run them.
As a single mother who doesn’t receive child support and whose three children are on the Honor Rolls in the gifted-and-talented programs at their schools, I would like to tell Rev. Peterson and his white backers to get out of my business. Physicians, heal thy freaking selves. I’m not the one with the problem. I’m not broken, so don’t try to fix me.
Am I an angry (half) white feminist? Hell, yes. But – contrary to Peterson’s rantings – as such, I am not trying to “support the hostility between the black man and the black woman.” Mister, I don’t care about y’all’s hostility. I’m too busy raising my kids and avoiding getting raped at night.
Peterson talks a lot of shit about not blaming white Americans for his community’s problem. What he’s really doing is banding with white right-wing men against white feminists – “supporting the hostility” – and the white right-wing men love it. Mr. Peterson, you are as much of a sell-out as you accuse Jesse Jackson of being. Do you think really think white right-wingers will share their power with you, or do you only aspire to power over women of your own race?
Can you stomach a world where men and women treat each other as equals, Mr. Peterson? If not, then you are every bit as weak as the convicts and the deadbeats, as far as I’m concerned. Sell out to the haters all you want, but don’t blame ME for your problems.
phew
Okay, that’s it. No more right-wing-link surfing for me. All it does is rile me up, and it’s high past time to get dressed for the club.
I want to enjoy my evening, so I’ll go back to pretending these hateful psychos don’t exist.
