GOP: Dean’s Support of Gays Will Hurt Him
Richard White, a Republican state senator from Mississippi, said any candidate talking about gay rights might as well not even visit his state.
“The people down here, they are not going to put up with that kind of stuff,” White said. “We’re not prepared for all that in Mississippi or anywhere else in the southern states.” […]
“I don’t think voters in Kentucky would be for that,” [CFO of the Kentucky Democratic Party] said. “It’s the way folks are raised.”
The hell? Dude, if you live in Mississippi or Kentucky, you just got burned. They dissed you.
I’m gonna nag all my apathetic, non-voting-ass friends to vote for Dean. We can all go to the polls together and stand around in line criticizing people’s clothes. That’ll make them vote. This is bullshit. We can’t let Bush win again. We can’t let them force their version of Christianity on our laws and close down all the gay bars. Where the hell am I gonna sing karaoke if that happens? If I don’t speak out when they come to take the homos away, who’s gonna speak out when they come to take the women who read Japanese porn comics? Who will save me then if I don’t stand up and start complaining now?
