Great update Gwen! Please take care. Hope you feel better soon and can quit hallucinating just so you can breath better.
I cant wait to read all your new books coming out soon, I never realized the time span between an author being done writing and when we the reader can purchase our own copies!!!

I think it is funny that you say DC has pretty architecture. So many people just focus on the 70s style concrete buildings, which can be pretty yuck. And there is a height restriction so we don’t get tall fancy buildings like other cities.

I’m excited that you enjoyed DC (and the tourists!). If you do come back please let us know so I can offer a bunch of bossy advice about art museums and tours and stuff. I have a friend who is a historian and has given some pretty fancy tours and knows a lot about the city.

Alicia: I know who you are but never knew where you lived (other than you used to live in Hawaii). Where are you? Maryland?
And yessss! that’s how the hallucinations always start for me, with the movement out of corner of eye. And then this time they moved to full-fledged bug sightings. I’d think “OMG, a giant earthworm! Oh, wait, that’s a string” over and over again. I had to dig around on the Internet and make sure it was from the allergy meds and not, say, schizophrenia.

MRC: Doh! I guess that makes sense, that it’d be in spring, huh? Thanks for the heads up. I always get October and April mixed up. No, we don’t have cherry trees here. Only loquats and kumquats and pecans and stuff. And figs.

Maggie: They say it only happens to some people. Do you ever stop taking it and then get anxiety attacks? I suspect loratadine does that, but can’t find anything online about it.
You should totally go to DC. It’s full of pretty architecture for blocks upon blocks. People say it’s very European, design-wise, but I couldn’t vouch for that.

Wow, I take loratadine and desloratadine and have not had any hallucinations. That I know of! Maybe some of the weird stuff I see all the time isn’t real.

Glad you’re a good photographer for tourists. I fear that I’m not and I seem to get asked often.

Haven’t been to DC and now I want to go!

Wow — we really get some great posts when you aren’t working on your books. But y’all will be really disappointed it you go to see the cherry blossoms in October. Don’t you have cherry trees in Houston? Cause they bloom in April.

Sorry you aren’t feeling well. I’m glad you said something about allergy meds causing hallucinations. I’ve been taking loritadine and I sometimes think I see little critters scurrying around the bookshelves in the family room, or scooting past the fireplace, or sneaking past me on the couch. I look again and then I don’t see them. It’s a weird sensation and nowm thanks to you, I have an explanation for it.

I wish I could have met you when you were in DC! I live only 45 minutes away and I would have loved to give you a locals tour that I guarantee you would love. I’ve been a follower/fan of yours since your trailer park days.

I’m so sorry you’re sick. I am too actually. I’m told it is some sort of Tennessee Valley initiation thing but I don’t know if I believe that. I think I’m just exhausted.

I’m also still SO sad about not getting to see you when you were in DC, but I’m glad you got out and walked around and I am really glad you’re thinking about going back for a family trip. It’s a wonderful city and I miss it already. I can geek out about places to go and things to see if you want, but I won’t do it here.
