My Kids
I’m glad my kids are coming home next week, because they remind me of what I’m working for.
When they aren’t here, it’s easy to wonder why I bother going to work every day. It’s tempting to call in sick (and take the resulting pay dock) so I can spend my time doing what I want to do, or doing just nothing at all – a well deserved rest.
Never mind that, when they get home next week, my life will once again become a blur of cooking, cleaning, laundry and homework supervision. Never mind that the air will once again be filled with arguments over video games. When I can see their faces again, it’ll inspire me to work harder and to let the petty things slide. My children are the three most important people in the world, so they make everything worth it.
Also, when they get home, the kitten will have three extra people to play with, and maybe that’ll calm his violent ass down.
