Squicked Out

My stomach feels weak.

Last night I got a graphic explanation of a sex toy I never would have, could have, or needed to figure out on my own. This afternoon, the cat’s deworming medication finally (literally) showed results.

I ate bad food. I drank bad drinks. My stomach’s feeling queasy.

There are gnats all over my apartment, goddammit.

Happy Memorial Day weekend.

I Passed Out

I never thought I would ever pass out from drinking.

So far, I never have. But I did pass out yesterday from drinking… outside on a hot, hot afternoon, with no dinner in my stomach and no water anywhere around.

And, actually, I didn’t even really pass out. I just had a sudden realization that I needed to lie down, and I acted on it very quickly. I can see how it might have looked like I was passing out when I accidentally knocked things down on my way to the floor. Also, the fact that I closed my eyes in relief when I got there probably added to the dubiousness of my explanation. But, no, I never pass out. I was just taking a quick, sudden rest.

Everyone was very nice. When the bartender touched the bar towel to my head, my skin greedily sucked all the moisture from it. Bleach and all.

“I’m dehydrated,” I announced. Like a very clever detective.

“I should have known,” the bartender said. “It makes your blood sugar drop.” A lesson for us all.

They gave me water and let me loll on the floor for a while. I was glad that I had shaved my legs. Tiffany bought me quesadillas and drove me home. I like her very much.

I’m gonna try to take it easy this week. My kids just went to their dad’s for the summer, you know. When I temporarily put aside my need to take care of them, I accidentally put with it my habit of taking care of myself.

But now I remember. You can’t take care of kids in the fall if you don’t take care of yourself in the summer. It’s a proven fact.

Responsibility. A lesson for all seasons.
