xmas shopping
I already started, so I could beat the rush this Friday. I got my kids all their big gifts, and now just need their little gifts. I bought other people stuff, too, but they read this site sometimes, so I won’t say any more.
I love Christmas shopping when someone else is there to help me. The only thing about doing that is that you see things you want to buy for the person shopping with you. Then you have to go back later without them to buy those things.
xmas cleaning
I really, really need to clean out the kids’ closet before I retrieve them from their dad’s house on Sunday. I have to do it when they’re away so I can be ruthless. There are a million toys in their room that they’ll never miss if I throw them away. But if I ask them to their faces, “Do y’all still want this headless robot and these crumpled up origami frogs?” they’ll cry out and fall to the floor. They’ll wrap their arms around my legs and beg, “Please, mom, please! For the love of all that’s good in this world, don’t throw those toys away! Those are the only things that give us hope anymore! Please, mom! No! DON’T THROW AWAY THE STICKERS THAT CAME WITH THE BOTAN RICE CANDY THAT ARE ALL OVER THE BOTTOM OF OUR TOY BOX! No! NO-O-O-O!!!”
