sad eyes, crooked crosses, and bluebonnets
I’ve heard it said that Taylor, Texas, is “God’s country.” At the time I idly wondered what could possibly be so good about it. Then, the other day, I drove through it for the first time. Granted, it’s springtime and most places around here are looking as good as they ever will. I have to say, though, that if I were God, I’d be willing to claim Taylor.
The rolling, verdant, cattle-dotted hills and humongus blue sky were incredibly picturesque, but picturesque doesn’t always mean photogenic, does it?
Still… as of right now, I’m planning to get rich and then, after my youngest goes off to college, buy a farmhouse on a hill in Taylor .
